Qualifications
When you are choosing a course, it is important to find the right level for you. View our guide on page 5 in our prospectus.
We offer a wide range of qualifications that are accredited by a number of awarding bodies including Edexcel, OCR, LCCI and AQA and other specialist examining boards.
These academic qualifications are listed under the relevant subject areas in the course listings.
The qualifications are designed to enable adults to study on a part-time basis, working towards awards in a way that fits in with employment and family commitments. Course content is organised into smaller amounts of learning, called units. This enables you to work at your own pace and gain credit for your achievement that is recognised by outside bodies and employers.
London Open College Network
London Open College Network (LOCN) accredits formal and informal learning within a credit framework. Its flexible programme allows you to gain qualifications for your achievements by credit accumulation. LOCN is a member of the National Open College Network.
BTEC Qualifications
BTEC qualifications are beginner and intermediate level courses. They provide the opportunity to gain the basic skills and techniques necessary to develop creative potential and progress to more advanced courses, such as the BTEC Professional Development Certificates (PDC).
BTEC Professional Development Certificates
Equivalent to NVQ level 4 (post A level), these courses are recognised by employers, as well as further and higher education establishments. They are structured to enable you to study at your own pace, either completing your certificate in one year or over a longer period of time. Courses can be tailored to suit personal areas of interest.
National Vocational Qualifications
National Vocational Qualifications are concerned with developing particular work-related skills. They are assessed in the workplace. For further advice about qualifications, contact our careers and advice service.
