Refunds
WAES will refund course fees in full if we are forced to close a course in the first four weeks, cancel a course before it starts or change the time or venue of a course. Fees are not refunded in other circumstances. You must complete a refund form and provide your original receipt. An administrative charge of £5 will be deducted from your refund. A refund form must be completed in all cases.
Your exam fees will be refunded automatically if you withdraw before the fourth week of your course. After this date, no refund will be issued.
Transfers
You may transfer to another course within two weeks of your start date, so long as the course you are leaving is at least four weeks long and places are available on your new course. You must pay any difference in fees. If the new course fee is lower we will give you a credit note. There is a £5 transfer charge.
Attendance
If you cannot attend a class you must notify the centre where the course is taking place. If you miss two consecutive weeks (without giving prior notice) you may lose your place on the course. In these circumstances, fees will not be refunded.
Tutors
We will endeavour to maintain the continuity of tutors, but reserve the right to substitute staff according to the demands of WAES.
Exclusion policy
WAES reserves the right to refuse admission and to exclude students in exceptional circumstances.
Accuracy of information
Every effort has been made to ensure information regarding fees, timetables, services and courses are accurate at the time of publication. You should, however, confirm these when you enrol as they are subject to change.
Changes to programme
WAES cannot guarantee the availability of particular courses. Every effort is made to allow a course to run. However, under our policy, it must have a minimum number of students enrolled. A low number will be acceptable for basic education, ESOL courses and courses for students with special educational needs. We reserve the right to merge classes, close classes or reduce the course length, and to make reasonable changes to the content, teaching and assessment provided on any course.
In all cases, we will endeavour to contact you, inform you of any changes and make alternative arrangements where possible. Should industrial action, circumstances which are unforeseen or beyond WAES’ control interfere with our ability to provide these educational services or facilities, WAES will use all reasonable endeavour to minimise the resulting disruption.
Examination results
You will be notified approximately 12 weeks after the date of your last exam by letter or postcard that your qualification result and/or certificate has arrived at WAES. If you move abroad, are based outside London or cannot come to the Examination Office through disability, you may request that your certificates be sent by post. A charge of £5 is made to send certificates abroad. They will be sent by registered mail. Certificates not collected within six months of arrival at WAES may be returned to the issuing body or destroyed. Students who wish to collect a certificate after this time must contact the relevant examination body, and may be subject to an administration charge.
