Our courses are designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed as professional make-up artists.
Tutors are experienced make-up artists and hairdressers, who work in the industry and have the latest knowledge of products and techniques.
WAES make-up students are always interested in obtaining work experience on live projects. This could include anything from a feature film to a dance performance, from a party, to a community make-over day.

Our bridal make-up tutor did some of the make-up on Wills and Kate's wedding day!
Beginner level courses offer a thorough introduction to make-up skills, special effects make-up, prosthetics make-up, hairstyling, face painting and airbrushing with cosmetics. You can go on to a level 2 or 3 course, which can take you to university or straight into employment.
Twelve of our special effects learners provided the make-up on the feature film Doomsday. Other WAES students have worked for the Royal Ballet School and Westminster City Council. Recent students have become apprentices at Trevor Sorbie and Harrods Hair and Make-up Salons.

City and Guilds Diploma in Hairdressing
Hairdressing students on the City and Guilds Diploma in Hairdressing were delighted when Stuart Phillips, celebrity hairdresser with his own salon in Covent Garden came in to talk to them on Tuesday 9th November. In an Audience with Stuart Phillips students were able to ask him questions about how he had become successful in hairdressing. There is a link to the full interview with Stuart Phillips on Youtube.
