English and Maths

Do your English and maths skills stop you getting where you need to be? Do you want a better job or to help your children with their homework? Perhaps you would like support with English and maths to help you live in London? If so, WAES has a range of classes to suit your needs.

Before you start a course, we assess you to check the right level for you and then we discuss your options. You might prefer a short, intensive study programme, or maybe a longer approach. Our courses are available at all levels, from basic beginners to advanced and higher. We offer nationally recognised qualifications up to level 2 and preparation for internationally recognised qualifications that look great on your CV.

Wondering which course to choose?

Are you a native English speaker who missed out on qualifications at school? Do you need to brush up your reading, writing or basic maths skills? We have a variety of English and maths functional skills classes to help you achieve your goals.

Is English not your first language? Are you living in England or trying to settle here? Do you need English to enhance your opportunities in the UK? Do you need to improve your English to cope in everyday life, help your children, communicate with others or get a job? An English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course is perfect for you. Most ESOL courses give you a chance to gain qualifications that are recognised and valued in the UK.

Have you come from another country and want to improve your English? Are you interested in internationally recognised qualifications; for example, PET, FCE and other Cambridge exams? English as a Foreign Language (EFL) courses are best for you.

Where can I study?

Classes take place at all our main centres as well as many community venues throughout Westminster, where we offer classes for learners who prefer an English course in a small centre close to their own home. Some of these classes are for women or men only and many offer childcare.

When can I study?

We have morning, afternoon and evening classes. Your assessor will give you details of the exact days and times.

What will it cost?

Functional skills literacy and maths classes are free for all learners. ESOL course fees depend on your status. Our EFL courses are very competitively priced. We give you information about fees when you enquire about courses.

How do I start?

You must take an initial assessment before joining a class. To book a place on one of the assessment sessions, please call 020 7297 7297.
