User Code

Learning Centre Rules

The User Code ensures that all students using the Learning Centre show consideration for the centre, its staff and other users.

No Mobile Phones, Food Or Drink

Mobile phones must be switched off on entering the Learning Centre and food and drink is strictly prohibited.

While using the centre you are requested...

  • Not to change the settings or appearance of the computers' desk-top
  • To pay for all printing and photocopying. This includes unwanted material and mistakes 
  • To vacate your terminal when the time booked has elapsed, if requested. 
  • To abide by the laws governing copyright
  • Not to display threatening or obscene material when using the Internet 
  • To produce a valid WAES receipt if requested by a member of staff 
  • To use only the software that is made available in the LC by WAES 
  • To follow the Health and Safety advice displayed in the LC
  • To arrive punctually for computer bookings. Terminals will not be held for more than 15 minutes.

Health & Safety

To ensure you stay efficient, keep healthy and avoid fatigue when working on a computer in the Learning Centre, please make sure you refer to the leaflet 'Health & Safety for Computer Use', before you start your session.
