Our introductory Level 1 Hair and Make-up courses are for people who are new to the industry and unsure if they want to work in hair or media make-up. Upon completion of the course, learners will have received a thorough induction into both the hair and media make-up sectors, thus enabling them to decide which career path they wish to pursue.

Nationally-recognised media and theatrical make-up courses are delivered at Levels 2 and 3. On these courses, you will gain the knowledge and develop the skills required to secure employment in the industry or become self employed.

Entry Level 3 Award in Hair and Beauty Therapy

This Entry 3 Award is intended to provide learners with a broad introduction to the hair and beauty sector, equipping learners with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills.This is a short, taster course into the sector.

Level 2 Diploma in Media Make-up

This Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make up is a qualification that will develop your practical media make up and hair skills. You will learn how to apply make up for different occasions and situations. You will study skins types and face shapes plus eyebrow and eyelash treatments and photographic make up. Health and Safety and professional practices will support your practical knowledge to give you a complete understanding of the make up industry. You will also study Body art and Skin Tanning techniques.You will develop your skills and techniques throughout the course and take part in a Fashion, Hair and Make-up show as part of your qualification.

This Level 3 Diploma in Hair and Media Make up is a comprehensive course that has been specifically designed to develop your practical Media Make-up and Hair skills to be a professional Makeup Artist for all the mediums of still and moving camera work, internet, commercials, performance, and stage.You will learn how to and dress hair, apply prosthetics, create bruising and minor injuries, create character and makeup looks. You will have an understanding of lighting and camera work and have the experience of presenting your work for the end of year show and other projects through the college.
