Music Department at London Songwriters' Week

Fifteen music students and staff from Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) have attended an exclusive music industry workshop. The event, created for WAES by Music Matrix, an Arts Council funded consultancy, was held on Carnaby Street as part of London Songwriters’ Week and hosted by Radio 1Xtra DJ Ras Kwame.

Speakers included platinum-selling singer/songwriter Shola Ama and producer James Lewis, who discussed their work, answered questions, and stayed to chat afterwards.

Our students made the most of this fantastic opportunity to meet successful musicians and learn about day-to-day life in the music business.
