WAES student beats thousands world-wide in Hugo Boss create contest

Two years ago Marina Chorbadzhiyska decided to pursue a career in Graphic Design. With little knowledge, experience or skills within the field of design Chorbadzhiyska decided to go back to college to fulfill her ambition of being a graphic designer.

Taking such a huge step to return to education as well as having financial commitments meant that Chorbadzhiyaska had to fit her studies around work. Chorbadzhiyaska overcame the first hurdle of finding a suitable college when she came across Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES).

“I chose WAES because the courses were very structured and were offered at different levels, from beginners to BTEC.
I found the course prices to be very reasonable and even more importantly the days and time (especially the evening ones) suited my schedule.’ Says Chorbadzhiyaska.

Once she completed the Introduction to Graphic Design course at WAES she continued her studies by doing the BTEC Diploma (level 2) and ABC Certificate (level 3), which she successfully completed last summer.

“The knowledge I gained over the past two years exceeded all my expectations, I was very lucky to be taught by amazing professionals with extensive design experience.” Says Chorbadzhiyaska.

Chorbadzhiyaska entered the Hugo Boss Create contest as she thought it would be a great challenge. The contest was open to professionals as well as people of all skills all around the world. To Chorbadzhiyaska’s  surprise her work was chosen from thousands of submissions to be one of the ten winning designs.

“I am of course really happy about winning the contest. It has given me the confidence to continue pursuing my ambition of being a graphic designer.” Says Chorbadzhiyaska.

She plans to study the BTEC Award in Animation at WAES and hopes that she will be able to work as a graphic designer upon completing the course.
