Two students at WAES are taking their talent in glass futher by studying for MA courses at prestigious universities

David Taylor 
          
David Taylor, currently studying BTEC Level 3 in Kiln-Formed at Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) has been accepted to study for an MA Course in Contemporary Crafts at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham.
                                                           
Taylor has a creative background working as a painter, sculpture and filmmaking. He started to work with glass in 2003 and was recommended to the glass casting course at WAES by a friend. Since 2005 Taylor has been attending kiln formed glass courses at WAES to develop his level of skill and knowledge in glass.
 
“David shows strong commitment to the course, he is self motivated and energetic. He is highly creative and never lacks of inspiration. Enjoying drawing and sketching and he is also skilled in model making”. Says Gaby Kienle, Glass tutor at WAES.
 
Taylor’s glass pieces reflect his energetic way of working, demonstrating movement, colour and texture. Acquiring knowledge about kiln formed glass processes here at Waes, David gained an understanding how to apply learned techniques to produce successful glass pieces.
 
 
Paul Stopler
 
Paul Stopler first studied at WAES between 2001-2006 and went on to successfully complete a BA Course at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. In 2008 he returned to study Pate De Verre Glass course at WAES and is currently studying on an MA course at the Royal College London. 
 
Stopler was inspired by the work of WAES glass tutor Gaby Kienle,and embarked upon a change of career in glass.
 
The skills and knowledge that he gained at WAES helped him progress and equipped him for the challenges he faced at university
 
Once completing the MA at the Royal College London, Stopler aims to set up his own workshop as an independent designer/maker.
