This course is for you if you have an interest in Finance and Accountancy, and would like to gain higher qualifications and eventually pursue a career in this field.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
You should have at least Level 1 English and have a basic understanding of Mathematics along with reasonable IT skills, or assessment results and College interview.

Mathematics for Accounting, Essential Accounting Procedures, Creating Business Documents, Accounting in a Professional Environment.
How will I be taught and assessed?
You will be required to attend college once per week. You will learn in a computer room, and be taught by an experienced tutor. Successful completion of this course is by passing a Computer Based Assessment.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
You need to provide your own pens and paper. Text books will be discussed in the first lesson and, if required, this will be an additional expense of yours.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
You will have gained an understanding of finance administrator skills such as double entry bookkeeping, basic costing principles, as well as purchase, sales and general ledgers.
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
Following successful completion of this qualification, your progression will normally be to the AAT L2 Certificate in Accounting or Office Administration at Level1.
