What is the course about?
This is a course open to everyone who wants to go wild and loves the smell of baking bread. It is a relaxed, informative and fun day as you make bread in the 'age old' bread making tradition. The key ingredients are flour, water, yeast and salt. Sourdough is added for some breads; eggs and sugars for others. This one day course runs in September, October, January, February, May and July.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This is a course for everyone.
What topics does the course cover?
Topics include; what is artisan bread; what are the key ingredients; how to make a variety of breads; and how to introduce more complex flavours to the bread. You will also be made aware of good kitchen hygiene and general health and safety in the kitchen.
How will I be taught and assessed?
The chef will demonstrate and you will follow on from this making different artisan breads. You will be guided and supported throughout the day.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
We will provide you with all the ingredients that you require for this exciting day. Please bring with you an apron, tea-towel and containers to take away your home made bread in.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
You will be confident to produce your own bread in your own home.
