What is the course about?
Provide maintenance and care procedures for nails and skin. Be able to apply polish and a French Manicure. Enable paraffin wax and warm oil treatments for nourishment. Study of the structure of the nail and contra-indications to the service. Learn consultation and selling techniques.
Is a pre-enrolment interview or assessment required for this course?
What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
No previous experience is expected but good creative skills and levels of dexterity would be required. Plus you should have or be working towards level 2 English.
What topics does the course cover?
Learning the foundation of good hand and nail care, massage, buffing and varnishing techniques.
How will I be taught and assessed?
The course will be taught through practical work and through assignments that will help to develop your understanding of the industry and it's requirements. You will develop a portfolio of evidence for assessment.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
Learners will be expected to provide a certain amount of their own kit of cuticle clippers, files and nail clippers. Advice on this will be given in the first lesson. You will also need to provide A4 folder and pens. The college will provide all other equipment and products.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
Provide a manicure service.

Award in Pedicure Level 2, Level 2 Makeup Certificate or Level 3 Media Makeup.
