What is the course about?
The course is suitable for anyone who wants to prepare for work or update their skills in their existing role. The course will also help you gain essential knowledge to carry out a range of administrative tasks. You will also gain a Level 1 Bookkeeping course which altogether should gain you the knowledge necessary to progress into employment or onto a higher level qualification.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
You must have a qualification in English and Maths at Level 1 minimum or succeed in College assessments and interview. You also will be expected to have a good knowledge of IT and be able to use a computer efficiently.
What topics does the course cover?
The course covers a range of units related to administration such as the Principles of business document production and information management. You will also study a beginners accounts course.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Assessments are due at the end of each unit for the administration units. Your tutor will assess your work and help you to build up your portfolio of evidence of learning. The accounts part of the course will be by online exam.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
Folder, plastic envelopes and a selection of coloured pens are the basic requirements. If books are required the tutor will inform you of this in the first lesson.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
Have a good knowledge of business administration principles along with a beginners accounts course.
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
Level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Service. Level 2 accounts is also a pathway you may wish to pursue.
