What is the course about?

This is a five session course of cooking for adults and children. An adult will be able to bring one child with them to a session. The child needs to be aged between 7 and 11 years. Each session is structured so that you will both learn and practice recipes that can be repeated at home with friends and family. The collection of recipes have been chosen to enable the child with you to help you in the kitchen and learn the fun of cooking. The great thing too is that you have a very flexible purchase - session by session or 2, 3, 4 or 5 together. If you purchase a ticket it can be used by any adult and child (aged 7 to 11) and if you purchase more than one it again can be used by any adult and child (it does not have to be you and the same child does not have to come each week). The price is for one adult and one child - one session = £120; two sessions = £190; 3 sessions = £280; four sessions = £350; and five sessions = £400.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?

This course is open to any adult who wants to bring a child aged 7 to 11 along for the day to have a great time together cooking. It is key that the child can understand the importance of kitchen hygiene and being safe in a kitchen.

What topics does the course cover?

The sessions vary each week - 1. Soups, bread, pizza (base and variety of toppings), veg. 2. One Pot wonders, puddings and cake. 3. Shake it, Bake it. 4. Simply Pies - savoury and sweet. 5. A roast with all of the trimmings - dessert too.

How will I be taught and assessed?

You will watch demonstrations given by our chef and then it's time for you both to get cooking and having fun.

Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?

All ingredients for each session are covered in the cost. Please note that any meat will be organic and any poultry free range. You will need to bring aprons and tea-towels and containers so that you can take your food home safely.

By the end of the course what should I be able to do?

Easily cook the dishes you have worked together on and why not throw a party to show your skills to family and friends.
