What is the course about?
This is a course is part of our provision for those with learning difficulties or disabilities. The course will introduce you to the basics of gardening and horticulture. You will develop both horticultural practical skills and some basic plant knowledge. You will improve your employability skills, your communication skills, your ability to work in a team and your understanding of health and safety as well as basic English and Math. You will also recognise, use and care for tools used in horticulture.

What topics does the course cover?
The course will cover the maintenance of tools and pots, planter and beds, health and safety in the garden, watering and weeding and identification of most common plants and herbs._x000D_

The course is taught by experienced staff and there is continuous assessment._x000D_
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
You will require a gardening apron and gardening gloves. _x000D_
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
You will be able to weed a planted area, water and maintain seeds and plants, maintain a footpath, recognise some plants and herbs, to work and support each other while working in a group. _x000D_
