What topics does the course cover?
Cooking methods and skills, organisational skills, presentation, health and safety, shopping for ingredients. Stocking your cupboard.
How will I be taught and assessed?
You will be taught by watching practical demonstrations and then preparing recipes yourself. Your tutor will assess your practical progress and provide you with hints and tips on cooking techniques.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
You must supply ingredients for each session (at a cost of under a tenner), apron, and tea towel, a file for recipes, a pen and a container to take food home in.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
The aim of the course is to equip you with the skills to prepare and present a variety of sweet and savoury dishes.
