What is the course about?
An after school homework club for families with children in KS2 and KS3. This is a drop in class where your specialist EAL tutor can help you set up good homework habits in your home and help you understand what the homework is asking you to do. Bring your homework, your projects and your questions along to the online session.
Is a pre-enrolment interview or assessment required for this course?
What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This course is for learners with little English new to the UK. No prior qualifications are required.
What topics does the course cover?
You will learn good homework habits, how to complete the task accurately, where to get help when needed and how to solve general problems relating to completing schoolwork at home.
How will I be taught and assessed?
This is an on line drop-in style course of 3 workshops. There is no formal assessment for this course, the tutor will make continuous informal assessments and teach according to your personal learning needs.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
You will need access to the internet and use of an electronic device such as a mobile phone- ideally a tablet or laptop.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
You will have good homeworking systems in place and know how to talk to family and teachers about difficulties you might be having.
