What is the course about?
This course is ideal for anyone looking to learn new skills for career or professional development. The course is about creating Facial hair such as moustaches, beards, sideburns and eye brows for film and TV.
Is a pre-enrolment interview or assessment required for this course?
No.
What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This course is not accredited. You do not need any prior knowledge, skills or qualifications however a keen interest in making facial postiche is essential.
What topics does the course cover?
In this course, you will learn how to make a template, adapt to clients requirements, sew the pieces and knot the pieces.
How will I be taught and assessed?
The course is delivered in our in-house make up salon using industry standard dressing equipment. There are 6, 6-hour day time sessions. You will receive theory training and watch practical demonstrations and then practice your newly acquired knowledge and skills.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
No, the fees cover all equipment and materials.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
By the end of this course, you will be able to make a template for the area of the postiche you are making, apply foundation in sections and add tucks and pleats, use sewing and whipping techniques to secure the net and use a range of knotting techniques to add hair to the pieces.
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
Upon successful completion of this course, you can choose to do one of our other full cost Hair and or Make up courses such as Balayage, How to Blow dry your Own Hair or Wig Making for TV and Film. You may also wish to consider enrolling onto one of our accredited Hair or Make up courses.
