Take your drawings to the next level and explore key techniques and approaches including perspective, tone and colour. Combining essential theory with practical exercises, develop your observational skills and work from life as well as your imagination, working with graphite, charcoal and pastels.

The course follows on from our Learn the Basics of Drawing course. If you’re new to drawing or want to refresh your skills, please enrol on the Learn to Basics of Drawing course first.

- Tone - drawing with light with shade
- Colour theory and drawing with pastels
How will I be taught and assessed?
One to one tuition, group tuition, tutor demonstrations, presentations and practical exercises.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
All art materials for this course will be supplied.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
You should be able to build on your prior drawing skills and confidently complete a drawing from observation and also from reference material, which will involve working with line, shape, tone and perspective. If you’re new to drawing or want to refresh your skills, please consider doing our Learn the Basics of Drawing course first.
