What is the course about?

DREAMWEAVER IS - a very powerful software application used to construct simple or complex web sites. You will learn how to work with Dreamweaver to construct your own functioning website.

Is a pre-enrolment interview or assessment required for this course?

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?

Level 1. You should be a confident computer user. This is NOT a beginners computer course. It would be beneficial if you had some experience working with an image editor such as Photoshop.

What topics does the course cover?

You will learn how to design, construct and upload a website using web authoring software Dreamweaver. You will prepare and insert images, use text formatting and create links between pages and objects. You'll also create rollovers, embed video and other content such as Google maps. You'll learn how html and css work and how you can get your website LIVE on the web.

How will I be taught and assessed?

You will be taught by a ADOBE CLOUD (formerly ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE) expert. In our intensive courses you concentrate on one single software package, so you learn fast. Your Tutor will Guide the class through the techniques and support you as you complete the exercises. You will use the latest ADOBE CLOUD software applications on MAC computers in our Design Studios.

Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?

Notebook and pen. Bring along a USB stick to collect any work you make. If you don't have DREAMWEAVER you can use the College Learning Centre to practice or you can download a free trial from Adobe Cloud. We can test out websites but if you want you website to go LIVE you will need to purchase a domain name and web hosting.

By the end of the course what should I be able to do?

Know the purpose of DREAMWEAVER and work on your own DREAMWEAVER project.

What are the progression opportunities following this course?

You can progress onto our advanced WEB DESIGN courses or take any of our other intensive software courses. If you would like to find out more about Graphic Design, you can take a qualification course such as the Graphic Design Level 1 which introduces you to Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as graphic techniques or take a Web Design Level 2 course.
