What is the course about?
This a beginners course to provide experience of both hair styling and makeup skills. An introduction to the industry and service for which these skills are required. A good point to start if interested in the subject as a hobby or a new career

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
No previous experience is needed, this is designed for Entry 3 English or above
What topics does the course cover?
Learn about hairstyling for all types and textures of hair, using wet and dry techniques and the tools and products needed to achieve the looks. How to complete a good facial cleansing routine and makeup application for all skin types. Finally gain an insight to the Hair and Beauty industry and its workings.
How will I be taught and assessed?
The Learners are encouraged to work on one another to get an experience of differernt skin types. Hairstyling be practised on classmates or training heads. The theory is delivered and companied by handouts and IT presentations. The learner records their work in a Log Book which can be collected when the work has been assessed.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
The college provides equipment, tools and products for the learner to work with. Pens, folders and paper should be supplied by the learner.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
The learner should be able to complete 3 different hairstyles and 3 makeups by the end of the course
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
This is designed to take the learner to one of the Level 2 courses in Media Makeup, Hairdressing or Barbering
