What is the course about?
This community course is free to join for residents of Harrow Road, Queens Park and Westbourne Park wards. Get creative, and be inspired on this 7 week textiles course which will show you how to upcycle and renew an existing piece of clothing or you can create new pieces using recycled fabrics. You will learn a range of sewing skills so you can continue upcycling at home. Come and connect with other North Westminster residents and improve your textile skills. This project is part of North Westminster's 'A Warmer Winter' programme.
Is a pre-enrolment interview or assessment required for this course?
No.
What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This course is suitable for beginners. Please speak to a member of the Community Team before enrolling.
What topics does the course cover?
You will learn a range of skills, from design and drawing. basic pattern cutting, through to needle craft, machine work and hand stitching to complete the finished piece for you to take home.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Classroom based learning. Continual support and guidance will be provided throughout the session.
