You wil have or be working towards level 1 English, maths and ICT
What topics does the course cover?
This award has one unit: Access to Bookmaking. You will be taught a range of skills and knowledge : understanding the role of the bookmaker, identifying assests, liabilities, income and expenses, how to identfy profit and loss and customer and supplier transactions
How will I be taught and assessed?
You will receive feedback from your tutor continually through the course. At the end of the course you will sit a timed online assessment
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
Folder, plastic envelopes and a selection of coloured pens are the basic requirements. If books are required the tutor will inform you of this in the first lesson.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
you will have the skills to understnd the basics of Bookkeeping and can progress onto a higher level or into work. It is recommended that you take AAT Level 1 Award in Accounting Software
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
This qualification leads to junior roles in the industry: trainee boolkeeper, assistant cashier, procurement and finance officer. You could progress onto AAT Level Certificate Accounting or level 2 Business and Office Admin
