What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This is a Level 1 course. Learners need to have Entry Level 3 English level reading and writing and Level 1 speaking and listening English skills. Additionally, you should have at least basic digital IT skills.
What topics does the course cover?
There are a number of units to complete including: Understanding the role of the bookkeeper, Understanding financial transactions, Processing customer and supplier transactions and processing receipts and payments.
How will I be taught and assessed?
This course is a delivered face to face in college. You will be assessed by completing and achieving an external AAT - Computer based assessment/exam.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
Learners on a low income or in receipt of applicable benefits will not be required to pay a fee - our admission team will support you with the enrolment process and funding. You will need regular access to a computer or laptop and reliable internet service to complete this course. Once enrolled, learners will be able to download a free copy of Microsoft Office and will be given access to Microsoft office 365. You will need a non programable calculator.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
Once completed and achieved - you can progress to AAT level 2 (Certificate in Accounting) also employment such as: · Trainee Bookkeeper · Accounts administrator · Billing/payments administrator, Accounts junior · Accounts receivable/payable assistant · Junior Payroll Administrator
