What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This is a Level 1 course. Learners need to have Entry Level 3 English - reading and writing and Level 1 speaking and listening English skills. Additionally, you should have at least good digital IT skills.
What topics does the course cover?
There are a number of units to complete including Understanding the role of the bookkeeper, Understanding financial transactions, Processing customer and supplier transactions, processing receipts and payments, Principles of payroll and payroll procedures and processes.
How will I be taught and assessed?
This course is a delivered face to face in college. You will be assessed by completing and achieving an external AAT Computer Based Assessment and an external IAB Computer Based Assessment.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
You will need regular access to a computer or laptop and reliable internet service to complete this course. Once enrolled, learners will be able to download a free copy of Microsoft Office and will be given access to Microsoft office 365. You will need a non programable calculator.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
Once completed and achieved - you can progress to AAT level 2 (Certificate in Accounting) also employment such as: · Trainee Bookkeeper · Accounts administrator · Billing/payments administrator, Accounts junior · Accounts receivable/payable assistant · Junior Payroll Administrator
