What is the course about?
These qualifications will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. They include the roles played by workers – from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others. In the Certificate and Diploma there is the option to take units in more specialised areas such as learning disability, sensory loss or mental health.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
Complete BSKB Initial assessment of English and Maths and free writing at Least at a Level Entry 3.
What topics does the course cover?
Safeguarding, Duty of care, communication and Health and safety.
How will I be taught and assessed?
You will be assessed by your tutor/ assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
£70 for One file and photo-copy.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
This qualification provides stepping stones for those who wish to move into employment and complete either the Level 1.
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
Progress on to level 2 qualification in Childcare or Health and social care.
