What is the course about?
This course is for anyone interested in learning about how schools as organisations are run and gives you an insight to the National Curriculum for children aged 4-19 years

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This is a Level 1 Award course. Learners need to have Entry Level 3 level reading and writing and Level 1 speaking and listening English skills. Additionally, you will need to have basic IT digital skills.
What topics does the course cover?
There are three units in this qualification. Understanding schools as orgainsations, understanding how to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well and understanding how to communicate with children, young people and adults
How will I be taught and assessed?
This course will be a mixture of in class delivery and also on line. You will be expected to have your own computer or laptop. The course is an e-portfolio course, where you will complete the three units and upload them on to your e-portfolio to be assessed. You will be expected to attend each session either on line or in college when appropriate.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
You will require a laptop or computer at home with internet in order to complete this course sucessfully.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
By the end of the course you will achieve an accrediated Level 1 Award qualification and have gained skills such as saving word documents on a computer or laptop, research skills using the internet and knowledge about how schools as organisations work.
