What is the course about?
This course develops the skills and knowledge achieved on the Level 1 Web Design course. You will consider the wider landscape of media production and learn about how your skills can work in these industries. You will build interactive media and construct websites which are contemporary and mobile friendly using responsive technology.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
The course is LEVEL 2 qualification course and is designed to develop your Creative Media Production skills to a higher level. You should have completed Web Design Level 1 or have prior knowledge of Dreamweaver and experience using MAC computers. Level 1 English & Maths plus good IT skills.
What topics does the course cover?
The course is designed to support you in your next step using interactive media. You will work with Adobe Creative Cloud software, particulaly InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and After Effects.You will work with Animation and Cascading Style Sheets. Use of Photoshop for optimisation of images is covered together with building forms and an introduction to Java Script. More advanced features of Dreamweaver are explored including use of Library Objects and Templates.The course also introduces Content Management Systems and you will also explore the creative media industries. How will I be taught and assessed?
The course will be blended Learning, with a combination of face to face studio practical skills, online learning, plus directed study time. The tutor will guide you through class exercises and set tasks and projects. You will present the work in sketchbooks, an online portfolio, digital blogs using different practical formats.You will be assessed on the work you produce for your project and your course work. There is a short external examination.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
Learners should have access to the ADOBE CC software at home to complete the online part of the course and to practice your skills. You will need a notebook or sketchbook and a USB stick to copy your work.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
This course will provide you with creative skills in Digital Design, 2D & 3D Digital work, graphic design, digital animation, concept art and web design. You will have the opportunity to work on a personal project and showcase your newly developed skills within the subject.
