What is the course about?
This course is a BTEC Specialist qualification in the Principles of Marketing. These work related courses are designed to give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills they need in order to work in specific occupational areas, in this case marketing. This course allows learners to gain the basic knowledge that they need to move into a marketing role within an organisation.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
Learners must have completed, or be able to demonstrate, they are at least Level 1 in both English and Maths. Prior knowledge of the marketing sector would be a bonus.
What topics does the course cover?
The course will cover marketing theory, digital marketing, market research, managing customer relationships effectively and the legislation and personal responsibilities surrounding the sector.
How will I be taught and assessed?
The course will be classroom based and taught by one of our experienced marketing tutors. Assessment of the qualification will be through in class assessments and the building of a portfolio of evidence throughout the duration of the course.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
Students must provide their own stationary and writing materials. Any additional material requirements will be communicated during the first class.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
Learners will be equipped with the theoretical knowledge surrounding the marketing sector and will be able to move into a marketing role within the sector or continue their studies in this area.
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
Learners will be able to progress either into work or onto another of the business courses to further their education within the sector.
