This qualification is aimed at learners working in this field to share good practice and build confidence in their ability to fulfil their role as providers of advice at this level in a range of contexts. It gives support to those working as advice or guidance providers to be able to guide those they are supporting to make informed choices.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This is a level 3 course. You will not need any prior qualifications in Information, Advice and Guidance however you will need to have some occupational experience and be working in a role where you give Inforamation, advice and Guidance. You will need to have achieved English Level 2 or equivilant.
What topics does the course cover?
In this course you will learn how to apply skills for Inforamtion andvice and guidance, the principles and practice of Inforantion, advice and guidance and how to develop interview skills for specific types of Inforamtaion, advice and Guidance.
How will I be taught and assessed?
This course is a blended learning course and will be delivered both on site and on line. Assessment is done by learners completing a portfolio of evidence.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
There are no additional costs. Learners will need access to a PC or laptop and reliable internet connection for the on line learning classes.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
By the end of this course you will be able to deliver good quality information, advice or guidance services as a means of identifying progression routes to educational, training and work opportunities for adults who live in a wide range of environments.
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
Learners who achieve this qualification can progress onto the Level 4 NVQ in Information, Advice and Guidance, which is the minimum standard of competency required in the careers and education sector.
