What is the course about?

This qualification is for learners who have successfully achieved Level 2 Software and Programming and who want to develop and extend their digital and IT skills to prepare for different roles in the digital and creative industries within Software Development. What topics does the course cover?

The course will be taught in a hybrid nature with lessons in classroom and online. The course will progress unit by unit with a final assignment at the end of each unit to be assessed. JavaScript as a text-based programming language to understand how to create interactive elements on web pages.Underpinning concepts of object-oriented programming to develop skills in an object oriented language such as Python.Programming implementation in Python to become familiar with the underpinning concepts of programming and how it is implemented.Software testing to develop an understanding of testing strategies and techniques and the stages from planning to acceptance testing.

This course is offered as a blended programme where you will receive tution and direction at set times during the week from your tutor. You will need to be able to access this direct teaching input, engaging with your tutor and peers and have time to practice your skills as homework.
