What is the course about?

The Level 3/4 Diploma covers Colour Correction, Cutting, and Barbering skills to further the Level 3 learners experience and knowledge. Learning to make Hair Additions, with Scalp massage plus Sales and Promotional technics all to help establish the All Round Hair Technician.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?

This is a Level 3 course with a Level 4 unit designed for those who have suceeded at the Level 3 Diploma and want to further their knowledge and skills. You are required to have Level 2 literacy or should be near completion of a similar qualification.

What topics does the course cover?

You will gain further technical skills and knowledge of Cutting, Barbering and Colouring Correction. Hair Addition and Weft making skills are included to provide an understanding of a craft which has broad comercial market linked to the hairdressing industry. Sales and Promotion technics and Scalp massage are skills which help with additional services and retail essential to further the customers experience in the salon.

How will I be taught and assessed?

The course will be taught through practical tasks and demonstrations, assessed by online tests and assignments. A portfolio of evidence is developed for the practical assessments.

Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?

The studio fee covers use of the equipment and materials you will work with during the course. You will be expected to have your own kit of brushes and scissors. Electrical equipment is available in the studio. Your tutor can advise you further on week 1 There is a Bursary available for eligible learners with the Student Loan.

By the end of the course what should I be able to do?

You will be able provide an advanced level of colouring service and advise on colouring ; provide Mens cutting servives; produce a Hair Addtion, attach and incoporate it in a style; provide Scalp Massage; and undertand Sales and Promotion processes.

What are the progression opportunities following this course?

The learners will be qualified to enter the Hairdressing Industry; or explore the higher level 4 and 5 Hairdressing Management qualifications; or would be qualified for the educational areas open to Hairdressers and Technicians.
