What is the course about?

The content of the course is aimed at practicing or aspiring managers who supervise or manage a team to achieve clearly defined outcomes. They will set and monitor goals and objectives by providing instruction, direction and guidance. Day to day operational and project activities are a key part of their role.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?

This is a Level 3 course, therefore, learners will need to have English Level 2 writing, speaking and Listening skills and Maths Level 2 or GCSE English or Maths to undertake this qualification. Additionally, you should have good digital IT skills. You will need to have an interview with the Team before you are enrolled.

What topics does the course cover?

The qualification structure and organisation of units for these qualifications have been informed by CMI 21st Century Leaders , and has two key themes - Foundations for Excellence and Developing Capabilities, Delivering Results, and Driving Best Practice.

How will I be taught and assessed?

This course will be assessed by producing an e-portfolio of evidence that proves your ability and competence to work as a Leader. You will also be observed by your Assessor. Delivery methods for the Diploma can include - Face to face and Blended on line learning. Assessment Methods should include - assignments, professional discussions, observations, work products and self-reflection activities.

Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?

You will need to have a computer or laptop at home and a good internet connection to be able to carry out the on line work.

By the end of the course what should I be able to do?

By the end of the course you will achieve an accredited CMI Level 3 Diploma in Principles of Management and Leadership qualification. You will have also developed digital skills such as saving word documents on a computer or laptop, research skills and using the internet safely.
