What is the course about?
An introduction to Lost Wax Glass Casting using modelling techniques and the process of billet casting to create glass works of art.

Basic plaster casting knowledge required, such as cottling up
What topics does the course cover?
Basics of model making with wax and casting glass using billets of glass
How will I be taught and assessed?
There is no formal assessment. Teaching will take place in groups, and on a one to one basis.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
You will need to buy your own glass and wax, and once enrolled on the course a list of suppliers will be given to you to help you get kitted out. There is a suggestion to bring your own apron and dust mask if you own them. Otherwise aprons are available and dust masks can be bought from our in house shop. If you have model making tools this may also assist you but is not essential.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
By the end of your course you should have been able to create small cast glass works and have an idea of how to develop ideas using the process
