What is the course about?
If you struggle to commit the time to attend college due to work and family commitments. you can now complete the course from the comfort of your own home. During this course you will cover a range of subjects designed to help you use maths in everyday practical environments both at work and at home.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
This is a Level 2 course. Before you can enrol, you will need to complete an online assessment and have an interview (phone if not local) to ensure the course level is suitable for you. For non English speakers we would expect you to have completed ESOL level 2 or equivalent as a minimum.
What topics does the course cover?
The course covers the various topics and more understanding of how to use whole numbers with up to two significant figures, understanding how to use addition and subtraction in practical situations, recognise and use familiar measures, including time, area and money.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Accessed wholly on-line you will be allocated a support tutor who will be in contact via email, social media or skype. We expect you to carryout at least 40 - 60 hours of self directed study using a dedicated online system. All exams will be taken at our Westminster Centre.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
The course is free but you will be expected to supply your own additional resources. Access to a PC, laptop or compatible tablet. Access to the internet is essential.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
By the end of the course you will be ready to take the relevant Functional Skills assessment and progress onto your chosen vocational pathway.
