What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
At Pre Entry, whatever your circumstances, we provide you with opportunities to learn and develop and learn at your own pace backed up by our support every step of the way. Our courses are carefully prepared to reflect your individual needs, build your interest, fill skills gaps and support you with finding voluntary work or moving into employment.
What topics does the course cover?
During this course you will improve your skills in reading, writing and speaking and listening. You'll be able to apply these skills in everyday life, including in the workplace. You'll be continually assessed and will gain a certificate of achievement for your effort.
How will I be taught and assessed?
WAES Community Learning offers opportunities to study in small groups near you. Your tutor will use pair and small group work. All classes are equipped with an interactive whiteboard making learning fun and more effective. You will be assessed at regular intervals and your progress will be tracked through an Individual Learning Plan. You will also be given handouts and homework on a regular basis.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
An A4 folder to keep your work, and pen and paper.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
At the end of the course you will have improved your skills and built up your confidence. This could lead you on to further study.
What are the progression opportunities following this course?
You will need 85% attendance and a certificate of achievement to access our progression routes where the possibilities are endless.
