What is the course about?

This course prepares you for the internationally recognised Cambridge English: First ( FCE) exam, widely accepted by leading companies, universities and organisations, both in the UK and abroad.The course covers the complete range of real- life language skills needed at upper intermediate level, as well as all the aspects of the exam.

Is a pre-enrolment interview or assessment required for this course?

No.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?

The course is pitched at upper-intermediate( B2 in The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In order to join the course you will need to be at least at intermediate level. You can do an online assessment to check your level.

What topics does the course cover?

The course covers the complete range of topics needed at upper intermediate level, typical for FCE and determined by learners' individual needs. Using everyday and relevant context, you will prepare for all the four papers of the exam- Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking and Use of English.

How will I be taught and assessed?

You will be assessed by your class work and homework assignments, project work and self –study, regular progress checks, mock exams and ongoing monitoring. You will be given regular feedback on your performance and progress.

Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?

There are no compulsory materials, except a folder and a pen. You will be provided with necessary handouts and other resources. The teacher will advise you on self- study materials, which you may or may not choose to purchase, as well as free resources, which you will be encouraged to use.

By the end of the course what should I be able to do?

By the end of the course you will have developed general language skills at upper intermediate level, become familiar with the exam format and trained in exam strategies. You will cover the language areas in order to pass the five parts of FCE: Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening and Speaking.

What are the progression opportunities following this course?

Depending on your progress and interests, you may be able to move up to Cambridge English: Advanced or Proficiency or choose from a range of our professional programmes (e.g. Marketing, Business Administration, Customer Service etc).
