What is the course about?
Instruction and guidance on watercolour techniques that will provide learners with the skills to create successful watercolour compositions. Techniques covered will include: Building a composition, brush techniques, colour mixing, working with washes, layering and wet on wet application. The watercolour techniques covered will provide a foundation for developing paintings on a wide variety of subjects.

What level is the course and do I require particular skills, experience or prior qualifications?
No level required. This course is for all levels from beginners to the more advanced.
What topics does the course cover?
Planning and building a composition, description and advice on watercolour materials and their uses, brush techniques, colour mixing, working with washes, layering, wet on wet application.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Tutor will offer individual coaching, demonstrations, guidance, advice, one to one tutorials and group discussions relating to the learner’s particular interest or subject. There will be group discussions and exploration of a range of artists, subjects and approaches.
Are there any other costs or equipment I need to get?
All basic materials are provided. There will be some additional materials recommended for this course, advice will be given on the first class as to what and where to buy materials.
By the end of the course what should I be able to do?
Learners can progress on to a range of creative courses such as Portraiture and Life Painting.
