What is the course about?
On this 4 day course programme to build and develop your fine art portfolio. This is ideal for for creatives working towards portfolio preparation for university/college or a career change.
This is a beginner’s course and is suitable for learners with an interest in painting and drawing, but with little or no experience
Day 1: Drawing, materials and techniques including; pencil, charcoal, crayons, collage
Day 2: Painting materials and techniques including; watercolour, ink, acrylic, and mixed media (Note: No oil painting due to drying time)
Day3 Printmaking materials and techniques including, monotype, gellie, dry point (intaglio), , lino (relief) and collagraph
Day 4: You will have the opportunity to work on and complete work of your choice in the studio with 1-2-1 tutorials
Learners will receive feedback on progress from the tutor on a regular basis. At the end of the course learners will assess their individual progress and progression with the tutor.
The materials fee covers materials such as card, paper, and standard paint colours.
By the end of this course you will have gained a introduction into creative art practices and techniques which will help with future development. You will be able to work independently with confidence.
This course will enable learners to progress onto our Level 2 UAL Diploma in Art starting in September. You can also develop your skills further on one of our specialist short courses that run throughout the year. Options will be discussed towards the end of the course with your tutor.
