What is the course about?
The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Cyber Security is to provide learners with sector awareness. It will do this by introducing the knowledge and understanding in roles and issues relating to Cyber Security. The secondary purpose is to act as a stepping stone that will lead learners into studying Cyber Security at a higher level.
This is a Level 2 programme and you will be expected to already hold a Level 1 in Digital Functional Skills, or equivalent.
Modules include: Introduction to cyber security, understand terminology used in cyber security, understand legal and ethical aspects of cyber security, understand common threats to cyber security, understand methods of maintaining cyber security and working with others in cyber security.
This course is delivered on-site through classroom-based sessions at set times during the week. You will receive direct teaching and guidance from your tutor and will work collaboratively with peers. You will also be expected to practise and develop your skills outside of lessons through independent study.
There are no costs associated with this course. It is essential that you have regular access to a computer or laptop and reliable internet service to complete this course.
You will consolidate your knowledge of Cyber Security and learn practical skills which can be used to proceed into study at Level 3.
You will need 90% attendance and have successfully passed the Level 2 Certificate in Cyber Security Practices to progress onto Level 3 Certificate in Cyber Security Practices.
