Community Language & Communication

Strong communication skills can open doors—whether you’re looking for work, building confidence, supporting others in your community or progressing in your studies. Our Communication Skills courses are designed to help you express yourself clearly, connect with others and feel more confident in a wide range of everyday and professional situations.

You’ll learn through practical, supportive sessions that focus on real-life communication. This could include improving your spoken English, developing your writing for different purposes, strengthening your listening skills, or learning how to adapt your communication when working with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Many of our courses also integrate key transferable skills—such as critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork—to help you communicate effectively in modern workplaces and community settings.

We offer a range of short, focused courses to suit different goals and confidence levels. You might want to:

  • build your confidence speaking in groups and everyday situations
  • improve your pronunciation and spoken clarity
  • develop your writing for work, study or personal use
  • strengthen your communication skills for job applications and interviews
  • learn how to communicate more effectively in diverse, multicultural environments

Our courses are interactive and welcoming, with opportunities to practise, take part in discussions, and receive supportive feedback from experienced tutors. There are no formal exams in most courses—just a focus on helping you grow in confidence and ability at your own pace.

Whether you’re preparing for work, volunteering, further study or simply want to feel more confident expressing yourself, our Communication Skills courses provide a practical and supportive way to take the next step.
