WAES is pleased to announce that we are the first leading training provider for The National Archives Level 7 Archivist and Records Manager Apprenticeship. We are delighted to enable people from all backgrounds to gain a high-level qualification while working and learning through the apprenticeship route into the archives sector.
The first set of apprentices will be able to begin their Level 7 Archivist and Records Manager apprenticeship journey this autumn for 3 years, equivalent to a Master's degree. Beforehand WAES will be in close collabration with The National Archives and the Archives and Records Associaltion to finalise a bespoke training curriculum which meet apprenticeship standards approved by the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education (Ifate).
The article features statements from Chief Executive and Keeper of The National Archives Jeff James, Chair of the Archives & Records Association Andre Nicoll, Director of CILIP Pathways Jo Cornish and our very own Head of Apprenticeships and professional pathways at WAES.
