Creative and Cultural Heritage Employers' Event 2023

On Monday 6 February, WAES invited employers already working with apprentices as well as those interested in finding out more about getting involved in Apprenticeships. The event took place in the Undercroft, 20 Dean's Yard, at Westminster Abbey.

The day began with a morning networking session and an opening speech from Arinola Edeh (WAES Principal and Head of Service) followed by an introduction to guest speaker, CEO Jennifer Coupland from IFATE (Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education).

The Apprenticeship Team delivered a presentation on the WAES Apprenticeship offer. Course Leader Jennifer Pistella highlighted some key moments of the year and how beneficial Apprenticeships are for companies and the Apprentice journey.

Head of Apprenticeships and Professional Pathways,Gail Isaac, spoke about the funding and recruitment process for Apprenticeships at WAES and included the aspirations of WAES wanting to be the number one Apprenticeship provider for the Creative and Cultural Sector.

A Q&A and second networking session took place at the end of the event, the Apprenticeship Team and Alison Muggridge (Assistant Principal- Quality and Curriculum) were on hand to answer any further questions about collaborating with WAES to deliver an Apprenticeship programme.
