Learner Awards 2023

Each year at WAES, we hold the Learner Awards to celebrate success across our service. All learners nominated were invited to collect their certificate in a celebratory ceremony in the Lord Mayor's Parlour at Westminster City Hall on Wednesday 5 July.

Due to the capacity of the venue, the awards were split into three ceremonies:

• Community & Cultural Learning and ESOL departments
• Creative Industries department
• Professional Pathways, Basic Skills and Digital and Computing departments

In addition to the certificates received by all nominees, a panel of WAES staff members was convened to select a number of stand-out nominations, in recognition of learners’ great contribution to their studies and their progress and achievement. Unsurprisingly, this was a very difficult task, due to the high quality of all nominations. The chosen learners either received a Highly Commended certificate or a WAES to Success award, with one learner further chosen as Learner of the Year.

Each of these additional winners received an Amazon voucher.
