Lisson Grove Centre officially opened by Lord Mayor of Westminster

Wednesday 20th March 2013 saw guests, staff and learners welcome Councillor Angela Harvey, the Lord Mayor of Westminster, for the official opening of the WAES Lisson Grove Centre.
The WAES Lisson Grove Centre, newly refurbished over summer 2012 in time for the current academic year, offers WAES learners new photography, make-up, jewellery and glass workshops along with state-of-the art IT facilities.
At the opening ceremony, which was opened by WAES's Chair of The Board of Governors, Neil Grimston, The Lord Mayor praised the efforts of Westminster Adult Education Service staff and learners alike and reiterated the importance and significance of the service for the City of Westminster.

22 purpose built classrooms dedicated to teaching and learning 92 square metres of brand new learning centre space 3 brand new IT suites Enrolling in over 1,000 courses from September 2013 WAES primary centre for at least the next 10 years The largest of 80 venues in the WAES family 10 minutes walk from Marylebone mainline/tube station 8 bus routes on the doorstep Centre open 6 days a week
A temporay site at Senior Street maintains a presence for WAES in the Harrow Road area whilst the former Amberley Road Centre is redeveloped for the long term.
