Private View Art Show

On the 4th of July 2019 WAES celebrated the work of the fine art, ceramics and graphic design learners throughout the academic year. The event was held at the Lisson Grove centre and was opened by Councillor Jacqui Wilkinson.

The work exhibited was of a very high standard and visitors were able to purchase many of the excellent pieces. At the event, a number of learners in each discipline were nominated for the Bowker prize and the winners were announced at the annual Learner Awards Ceremony on the 10th of July.

The Bowker Prize for Artistic Excellence is awarded annually in memory of David Bowker, a former ceramicist and creative arts programme leader at WAES. This prize is awarded to learners who have been shortlisted for their work in Ceramics, Fine Art or Graphic Design.

The winners were:

Fine Art – Susan Peta Watts

Ceramics – Barbara Sulzberger

Graphic Design – Rosie Sanders

The work will remain on display at the Lisson Grove centre for a year, so do visit and view the excellent work done by the learners.
