The graduation ceremony took place on Thursday 5 April, in the beautiful Lord Mayor’s Parlour at Westminster City Hall. This special event celebrated the accomplishments of learners from the Amazon Web Services Programme (AWS), Full Stack Development Bootcamp, and Education and Training courses.
WAES Principal Arinola Edeh opened the ceremony with a warm welcome, before introducing the Lord Mayor of Westminster, who presented certificates to the graduates. Lee Lindsay from the Code Institute was in attendance and delivered an encouraging speech to the learners. Following that, Charlotte Wolf spoke on behalf of Education and Training, and Pawan Kumar, a certified solutions architect, also addressed the audience.
A standout moment of the afternoon was the inspiring speech by Claire Spiller, EMEA Leader for the AWS Restart for Success Programme. She highlighted the abundant opportunities awaiting graduates of the AWS course, emphasizing the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the tech industry.
The ceremony also featured personal stories from the graduates, which illustrated the unique and meaningful journeys they had undertaken, commending their tutors and other support they have received from colleagues at WAES. The event concluded with a heartfelt message from WAES Governor Carolyn Keen, who shared her own journey and commended the graduates for their resilience and success.
This memorable afternoon was a true reflection of the graduates’ hard work and determination, marking the beginning of their next chapter filled with achievement and promise.
