This year’s Creative Showcase captivated and inspired staff, learners, families, and friends as our Creative Industries learners brought their artwork vividly to life. Hosted at the Lisson Grove Centre, the event celebrated the remarkable achievements of our diverse community of emerging designers and artists.
The showcase featured two fashion shows, an internal preview for staff and a public presentation for family and friends. Among the VIP guests were WAES Governors, representatives from Grand Junction, and Influential Music.
WAES Principal Arinola Edeh opened the evening with a warm welcome, followed by inspiring speeches from Head of Creative Industries Dominic Harris and WAES Governor Alex Hughes. The event offered an important platform to recognise the creative accomplishments of our learners throughout the academic year and to support their growth as emerging professionals.
The exhibition presented a stunning variety of creative works from expressive ceramics and striking paintings to bold graphic statements and captivating digital art. Each piece reflected a personal narrative, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
A live photoshoot gave models and designers the opportunity to capture their creations professionally for portfolios, while guests enjoyed behind-the-scenes glimpses of the fashion collections. Learners from the Fashion Design and Hair & Media Makeup departments collaborated to bring visionary collections to life; each outfit a bold blend of culture, artistry, and technical skill. Models included learners, staff, family members, and friends, adding a personal and inclusive touch to the runway.
Later in the evening, guests viewed a film created by our Level 3 Creative Media Production and Technology learners, which sparked thoughtful conversation and creative dialogue.
The evening concluded on a high note, highlighting the spirit of collaboration between staff and learners that made this year’s Creative Showcase such a memorable success.
Special thanks go to learner Alex Murdoch, whose artwork was chosen for the programme cover and event poster. Stay tuned for photos and the official video from the Creative Showcase 2025!
