WAES offers a selection of Digital Skills Bootcamps. Skills Bootcamps are part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping everyone gain skills for life. Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer.
The AWS re/Start for Success Skills Bootcamp is run in collaboration with Amazon Web Services, preparing individuals for entry-level cloud positions. It is a full-time 12-week course taking place at our Pimlico Centre, with some days of online remote learning after the first few weeks.
The Skills Bootcamp in Web Application is run in collaboration with Code Institute, teaching you the skills to be a full-stack web developer. It is a full-time 16-week course taking place at our Amberley Road Centre, with some days of online remote learning after the first few weeks. A coding challenge must be completed as part of the application for this course.
This course is designed to deliver the practical skills to design, develop, build and test a web-based software application. The content aims to develop your abilities and proficiency in the most relevant and sought-after coding languages and tools for both front and back-end development. You will learn industry-ready skills to take up roles across software/web application developer, full-stack/front-end/back-end developer, QA engineer or Software support engineers.
The purpose of the NCFE Level 3 in Coding Practices is to provide learners with sector awareness. It will provide the learner with a chance to develop knowledge and skills relating to coding practices with the view to seeking employment or proceeding to further study in this area. This qualification is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge, skills and understanding of coding.
Please note, this course can only be funded for Greater London residents who earn less than the London Living Wage or otherwise do not already have a Level 3 qualification, alongside the standard residency requirements.
Please note, this course is currently only available to learners in England outside Greater London, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West of England, West Midlands, North of Tyne, Sheffield City Region, and West Yorkshire.
This qualification is designed for learners who want to gain knowledge of coding. The qualification may also support progression into further study in coding or other topics within the digital sector.
