Take the next steps in your career by gaining an assessor or IQA qualification. These courses can be taken at various points in your career and help you progress.
At WAES, we have extensive experience in delivering training, assessing, and quality assurance (TAQA) qualifications. These replace those known as A1 and A2 for Assessment, and V1 for Internal Quality Assurance.
WAES offers a range of courses in both assessing and internal quality assurance (IQA) for people working in or looking to enter roles in assessment and quality assurance. There are a variety of knowledge and practical unit combination courses available with level 3 focusing on assessing and level 4 on internal quality assurance.
But what do assessors and IQAs do?
Assessors ensure that learners are supported and assessed accurately whilst they work towards a vocational qualification or apprenticeship standard within a college, training centre or workplace which may include assessing competency or performance.
Where you assess your learners determines the right course for you:
IQAs are responsible for verifying that the training and assessment provided to learners complies with awarding organisation standards and guidelines. IQAs play a vital role in monitoring and ensuring consistency in assessment methods. The core responsibility of an IQA is to ensure that the assessments are valid, authentic, current, sufficient and reliable. WAES offers 2 qualifications depending on your role and experience and size of the team you are responsible for – IQA and Lead IQA.
